"A number of flight crews" stay at this spot near Newark airport that satisfies some and sends others packing; willing passengers note "decent" rooms, "excellent" public spaces, a "great little coffee bar" and "lots of cardio equipment" in the gym, whereas disputers decry the "dark and dingy" chambers, "horrible" plumbing, "excessive parking fee" and an airport shuttle that "does not leave on time"; in short, foes fume it's "like a jail", while fans find it a "comfortable", "convenient" option.

Good restaurant food; excellent location close to EWR; good clean rooms; helpful staff, (especially housekeeping).
Htl charges for computer use; rest. expensive; no convenience store to buy sundries close by, (hotel convenience shop overpriced--of course!).

Nothing.
Heating was poor, the rooms are old and not very clean.

They need to remodel this hotel. I was not able to find the shuttle to the hotel from airport. They did not have their name on the board. I ended up taking a taxi to hotel which cost me lots of money. Even the taxi had hard time finding it, due to bad signage. The rooms do not have proper heating. The furniture was old and not to standards. ...read more

The food service facility.
Was not able to set a wake up call.

The hotel staff was excellent friendly and helpful, but when I called to set wake up call unable to do so, no answer. Also, while room was fairly clean, there was hair in the tub and the carpet appeared dingy, also, the towels were rough and the soap was cheap. The heating system worked well which was a plus for me and the TV stations were adequate, I was able to get ESPN2 and watch the Australian open. ...read more

I liked the lay out of the room.
The sliding doors were not working at the time.

There's not much to say other than for the price I paid the room was excellent. Anyone would be pleased with what they receive..

Nothing great.
No microwaves.

Nothing special about the hotel. Small rooms, no microwaves, so you had to order and eat and no benefit in getting something boxed at a restaurant. I had to even ask for getting my room made.

Convenient shuttle service. Close to airport.
Expecting a 3 star but getting a 1 star.

This is a basic 1 star economy hotel. It has not been updated in 20 years and it shows. The room was reasonably clean. The airport shuttle was convenient and fast.

Teddy's restaurant and bar was very nice.

Room were outdated, no daily maid service, stayed 3 nights and was put in 3 different rooms for various issues from cleanliness to backed up tub to sink not working and more.

Nothing
Almost everything.

Rooms were worn, needed updating. Room had no kleenex, called front desk. None available from housekeeping, they were OUT. TV had no remote. Called front desk, woman said she would get one for me...2 plus hours later I wandered down to the front desk to ask again. One of the clerks on duty shrugged, wandered off, and 10-15 minutes later came back and handed me a remote. Neither person ever said " sure we'll get you one, find one or bring one to your room". Really poor communications skills from people who appeared to "care less". ...read more
